DAP Plug-in for 64 Bit IE is part of the Speedbit’s Download Accelerator Plus (DAP). DAP is an internet download accelerator that claims to increases your download speed by 300% and provide you with a whole host of other features to boot. Reviews at Softonic, FreewareFiles and Cnet give the software’s basic function good marks, BUT it gets lots of negative comments for bundling crapware and aggressively trying to hijack your search engine and home page during installation. My own test of the freeware version of the program confirms these reviews. It appears to speed up downloads of large files but you have to be very carefull when installing it to avoid the hijacking of homepage and search engine. Also, whenever it opens you get Popups for upgrading to the paid version. Also, default install is to have it load on boot up of your computer. This can be changed in your Startup Manager. But again it requires close attention when installing. So, search the web for reviews of DAP and then decide if it is something you want to have on your computer.
