This is the software driver package for the installed Asmedia ASM104x USB 3.0 Host Controller. The driver package is required in order for the Asmedia ASM104x USB enabled device to function properly and is the software that allows your computer to communicate with this hardware or device.
Overview
The most used version is 1.12.5.0, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software installer includes 80 files and is usually about 2.27 MB (2,380,356 bytes). ASM104FWUpdate.exe is the automatic update component of the software designed to download and apply new updates should new versions be released.
