The Adobe Download Assistant is a small, lightweight application used with Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Premiere Elements trial product downloads to improve download reliability. The Adobe Download Assistant installs on your computer automatically when you initiate a trial product download.

Overview

The most used version is 1.2.9, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program run on each boot for the user which installed it. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is Adobe Download Assistant.exe. The software installer includes 25 files and is usually about 2.89 MB (3,026,734 bytes).
