Overview

SonicStage 4.3 is a program developed by Sony. It is bundled and preinstalled with various Hewlett-Packard computers. Upon installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program run on each boot for the user which installed it. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is SSAAD.exe. The software installer includes 87 files and is usually about 20.78 MB (21,794,146 bytes). In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS Windows 7 (SP1) as well as Windows Vista (SP2). While about 33% of users of SonicStage come from the United States, it is also popular in United Kingdom and Germany.

This program is pre-installed on the PC

Such software is installed by the manufacture when delivering the PC to the end user. Some pre-installed programs are considered bloatware as they are simply limited function trials, while others are required for proper PC operation.
