What is Rocket Updater?

This installer/uninstaller is a bundler of potentially unwanted software using the ironSouce InstallCore download manager. This download manager will offer additional software during installation including adware and ad-supported web browser extensions. The software will include an uninstaller that will be available in Add/Remove programs but will not completely uninstall all bundled offers that were selected by the user (they are installed by default).

A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The primary executable is named updatetask.exe. A majority of users end up uninstalling this less than a week of it being installed.

How do I remove Rocket Updater?

You can uninstall Rocket Updater from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.

On the Start menu (for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following:
