Nero 11 BurnRights

What is Nero 11 BurnRights?  (from Nero AG)

Nero BurnRights allows a system administrator to authorize users without administrator rights to burn discs and connect new burners. This is necessary as users without administrator rights do not have access to the drivers needed for burning discs or for connecting new burners.

Overview

Nero 11 BurnRights is a software program developed by Nero AG. During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. Upon being installed, the software adds a Windows Service which is designed to run continuously in the background. Manually stopping the service has been seen to cause the program to stop functing properly. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. When installed, it will add a context menu handler to the Windows shell in order to provide quick access to the program. The setup package generally installs about 211 files and is usually about 5.97 MB (6,258,407 bytes). The installed file KwikMediaUpdater.exe is the auto-update component of the program which is designed to check for software updates and notify and apply them when new versions are discovered. Relative to the overall usage of users who have this installed on their PCs, most are running Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows XP. While about 55% of users of Nero 11 BurnRights come from the United States, it is also popular in Germany and United Kingdom.
