With 8GadgetPack you can have, on your desktop, the Windows Gadgets made for Windows Vista ... back in Windows 7, 8, 8.1 . Microsoft decided to remove Windows Gadgets starting with Windows 7 for security concerns. 8GadgetPack comes with few official gadgets made by Microsoft and few gadgets made by users (all are safe to my knowledge and they were popular for Windows Vista users, but be carefully which other gadgets, not available in 8GadgetPack, you find and download from web). After years of using Windows Gadgets, I decided to keep on my desktop only 2 gadgets: CPU Meter (made by Microsoft) and WeatherCenter (7 days weather forecast) which I use for years in Windows Vista, 7, and now in Windows 8.

Beware - this installer is jam packed with other programs that will install without your approval. Once you remove those beasties, version 1.4.10 works with Windows 8.1
