Remove VirtualCloneDrive by Elaborate Bytes

Virtual CloneDrive works and behaves just like a physical CD/DVD drive, however it exists only virtually. Image files generated with CloneDVD or CloneCD can be mounted onto a virtual drive from your hard-disk or from a network drive and used in the same manner as inserting them into a normal CD/DVD drive.

VirtualCloneDrive is a software program developed by Elaborate Bytes. The most common release is 5.4.7.0, with over 46% of all installations currently using this version. During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. When installed, it will add a context menu handler to the Windows shell in order to provide quick access to the program. The programs's main executable is VCDDaemon.exe and has been seen to consume an average CPU of less than one percent, and utilizes about 1.9 MB of memory. It also includes a system tray icon that is displayed in the notifications area while the program is running. The setup package generally installs about 30 files and is usually about 2.07 MB (2,175,351 bytes). Relative to the overall usage of users who have this installed on their PCs, most are running Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows 10. While about 36% of users of VirtualCloneDrive come from the United States, it is also popular in Germany and Iran.
