Samsung Support Center

What is Samsung Support Center?

Samsung Support Center is a troubleshooting utility pre-installed with various Samsung PC models. It contains a system diagnosis function, an Internet After-Sales function, and a system recovery function. With it, you can find answers for solving issues that may occur during the functioning of your system.

Overview

It is bundled and preinstalled with various Samsung computers. The most used version is 1.0.2, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program run on each boot for the user which installed it. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is SSCMain.exe. The software installer includes 20 files and is usually about 45.68 MB (47,894,156 bytes).

This program is pre-installed on the PC

Such software is installed by the manufacture when delivering the PC to the end user. Some pre-installed programs are considered bloatware as they are simply limited function trials, while others are required for proper PC operation.
