QuickShare

What is QuickShare?

QuickShare, also know as Smartbar, is an auto-starting program that is typically bundled with various shareware software. It displays advertising and is designed to run when Windows boots up. In addition it integrates with the various social networks including Facebook and Twitter in order to provide sharing features (and has access to core Facebook permissions). The product has low-level adware flags by more than one top-tier anti-virus/anti-spyware.

What the Smartbar does:
- Changes the default search engine in your web browser's built-in search box.
- Changes the default home page of your web browser.
- Adds alternative "page not found" functionality.
- Enable search from the address bar of your web browser.
- Allows software updates of the application once a new version is released.
- Adds, removes or modifies components interacting with search input fields.

The main process, quickshare.exe, is set to run as a startup file in the local run registry (HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run) named ''Browser Infrastructure Helper'.

From the EULA: "Linkury provides Users, inter alia, with a toolbar to be implemented in User's web browser. You also understand and agree that the Linkury Services may include advertisements and that these advertisements are necessary for Linkury to provide the Services. You also understand and agree that the Linkury Services may include certain communications from Linkury and you will not be able to opt out of receiving them."

Doing it this absolutely does not work. And when you go to the LInkury website, they do not help either. TO me, this is a real malware and cannot be uninstalled

I have been trying to remove Quick Share for sometime and have not had any success. I am running windows 7 on an HP Pavilion G series machine. I have tried uninstalling and even using a couple of programs that are recommended for removing Quick Share. I would appreciate it if anyone had any suggestions to offer. I am out of ideas and something is better then nothing. Also I am trying to avoid resetting my computer to the last save point. Thanks

QuickShare by Linkury.com is basically a commercial program that no matter what anyone tells you to the contrary , diverts your intended web searches toward websites that are tailored to get you to buy products that they or their subsidiaries have monetary interests in. For example: If you are a computer guru or an auto mechanic and usually browse the internet looking for computer parts & accessories, &/or car parts & accessories, this program will divert your search toward websites that Linkury.com or their sub partners have invested interests. This means that your typically known & trusted websites that you do business with may not even appear in a search or if it does it may appear way down on the list of results. This program is tailored to make them money while pushing the other competitors down or out. GET RID OF IT!!
