pc gearus Toolbar is a Conduit Community toolbar for various web browsers. The toolbar collects information about a user's web browsing habits and sends this information to Conduit so they can suggest services or provide advertising. During installation it may change the web browser's home page and search page and if uninstalled will need to be manually changed back. It may also automatically download and install updates without notifying the user. From the OurToolbar EULA: "The Application may also collect and store information about your web browsing locally on your device. This locally saved information may interact with the Application and send us information about your web browsing so we can suggest services or provide you ads that may be more relevant to you."

The most used version is 6.8.6.0, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. The program adds a toolbar to Microsoft Internet Explorer. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is pc_gear_usToolbarHelper.exe. Typically most users end up uninstalling this just after a few days. It also bundles additional software in the form of the Conduit Engine, which installs a potentially unwanted toolbar, and makes homepage and default search engine changes to a user's web browser. The software installer includes 14 files and is usually about 4.8 MB (5,028,337 bytes).
