Microsoft Silverlight

What is Microsoft Silverlight?

Microsoft Silverlight is an application framework for writing and running rich Internet applications, with features and purposes similar to those of Adobe Flash. The run-time environment for Silverlight is available as a plug-in for web browsers running under Microsoft Windows. Silverlight provides a retained mode graphics system similar to Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), and integrates multimedia, graphics, animations and interactivity into a single run-time environment. In Silverlight applications, user interfaces are declared in Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML) and programmed using a subset of the .NET Framework. XAML can be used for marking up the vector graphics and animations.

Web animaton has been commanded by Adobe's Flash programming. Nonetheless, this has adapted in later years with the appearance of Microsoft's Silverlight, a contending suite. While Flash is still as predominant as ever, its newer opponent has been fit to one-up it in certain regards. For starters, Flash utilizes an frame-based movement model which needs the client to compute the number of frames required for a specific activity then afterward to copy the target question inside every frame. In correlation, Silverlight uses what's called the WPF activity model. Instead of being frame-based, this activity model is built exclusively with respect to time. Every bit of the client needs to do is create the begin and end purposes of the liveliness, and afterward the programming handles the rendering of the way it takes.
