What is DriverPack Solution Updater?
DriverPack Solution Updater is the updater program which runs with Windows (in the background as a service) and automatically starts up when your computer boots. It checks for updates and automatically downloads and installs them if found based on the user's settings.
Overview
The most used version is 0.0.25, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program run on each boot for the user which installed it. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is drvupdater.exe. The software installer includes 9 files and is usually about 1.91 MB (2,007,720 bytes). DrvUpdater.exe is the automatic update component of the software designed to download and apply new updates should new versions be released.
