Overview

During setup, the program registers itself to launch on boot through a Windows Schedule Task in order to automatically start-up (this is typically done to avoid any UAC prompts). Upon being installed, the software adds a Windows Service which is designed to run continuously in the background. Manually stopping the service has been seen to cause the program to stop functing properly. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The primary executable is named wisecare365.exe. Many users end up uninstalling this after less than a month of it being installed. The setup package generally installs about 35 files and is usually about 26.53 MB (27,819,550 bytes). The installed file LiveUpdate.dll is the auto-update component of the program which is designed to check for software updates and notify and apply them when new versions are discovered.
  • Malware detected in the program
  • Starts automatically
  • Adds a background Windows Service
  • The wisdom of the experts agree, if you don't use it you should remove it!

It has worked fine for me in Manual Mode. The only annoyance I have so far is the OutFox TV webpage that always opens up when I click on either Google Chrome or IE Explorer. I just delete it and continue with my home page.

I've had it for 3 days and in love with it as it hasn't caused any problem. But because of this page I did more investigation on cnet reviews I found that it 'can' cause problems and it not showing the details of the things it removes is a concern.http://www.edbott.com/weblog/2005/04/why-i-dont-use-registry-cleaners/ " a registry “tweak” here and there is desirable or even necessary sometimes, but random “cleaning”, especially for the novice, is inviting disaster." I also had AVG anti-virus (which is thankfully in shouldiremoveit's good books) which saved me from downloading a viral dictionary program, stupid of me. Wise care 365 was able to remove half the threats the AVG trial didn't include (as it needed to be purchased) so thats why I liked wise care so much and that it had a high rating on makeuseof, cnet, etc

I don't understand why people remove this software. It behaves well if correctly configured.

Forgot to mention that every autostart can be disabled through its settings function so that all you need to do is to access the program manually on demand for normal cleanup operations...just make sure to go to ..."services" and manually disable "live update" as well as "live boot assistant" after disabling everything else in its "settings" function...it will run flawlessly when manually accessed during normal cleanup operations.

This program can be disabled from auto start up with windows...live update can also be disabled through(services) utility in windows...it is great for tuning up systems in windows and useful along with other third party programs for regular cleanup for those of us who know enough to disable automated programs and run everything on a regular basis manually.
