What is WinZip std?
WinZip is a proprietary file archiver and compressor that creates archives in the ZIP file format but also has various levels of support for other archive formats. Features include: Creation of, addition to, and extraction from ZIP archives. Direct write of ZIP archives to CD/DVD. Support for ARC and ARJ archives if suitable external programs are installed. Email ZIP archives. Support of additional compression methods: bzip2 (9.0), PPMd (10.0), WavPack (11.0), LZMA (12.0), JPEG (12.0). Unicode support to ensure international characters are displayed for filenames in a Zip file.

Overview
A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. When installed, it will add a context menu handler to the Windows shell in order to provide quick access to the program. The software installer includes 15 files and is usually about 7.73 MB (8,108,244 bytes).
