WS-Enabler
What is WS-Enabler?
The software is distributed with a bundled download manager and is designed to hijack the user's web browser search and home pages to one of a number of pre-defined search websites including:

websearch.wisesearch.info
websearch.greatresults.info
websearch.simplesearches.info
websearch.searchiseasy.info
websearch.toolksearchbook.info
It will do this to each browser installed including Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox. After installed it will download additional files the will protect the pages from being reset by another program or the user. These files are sinstall.exe and search_installer.exe, both detected as malware.
This is a variant of the SK.Enhancer trojan hijacker.
Overview
The most common release is 4.2.0.1994, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. During setup, the program registers itself to launch on boot through a Windows Schedule Task in order to automatically start-up (this is typically done to avoid any UAC prompts). The primary executable is named WS-Enabler.exe. A majority of users end up uninstalling this less than a week of it being installed. The setup package generally installs about 1 files and is usually about 717.72 KB (734,941 bytes).

How do I remove WS-Enabler?
You can uninstall WS-Enabler from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.
- On the Start menu (for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following:
- Windows Vista/7/8/10: Click Uninstall a Program.
- Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs.
- When you find the program WS-Enabler, click it, and then do one of the following:
- Windows Vista/7/8/10: Click Uninstall.
- Windows XP: Click the Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program).
