What is SyncBack?

SyncBack is software which allows backing up and synchronizing files to the same or different drives, to different media (CD, DVD, Flash, zip), or to a remote server. SyncBack Freeware is free for home and business use. SyncBackSE and SyncBackPro include a number of extra features, e.g. SFTP, backup to CD/DVD, 256-bit AES encryption, backup to email servers, scripting, etc.

Overview

During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The primary executable is named syncback.exe. The setup package generally installs about 18 files and is usually about 6.33 MB (6,642,286 bytes).
