What is Spring Smart?
This is a potentially unwanted web browser extension that is designed to deliver search-based hijacking as well as contextual advertising. The program does this by modifying the user's home and search page in order to monetize a user's search activities. By installing a an extension in Chrome, it has the ability to monitor and track a user web browsing activities and display various banner and link-context ads in addition to its search redirection.

Overview
Upon being installed, the software adds a Windows Service which is designed to run continuously in the background. Manually stopping the service has been seen to cause the program to stop functing properly. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. It adds a Browser Helper Object (BHO) to Internet Explorer. The primary executable is named SpringSmartBHO.dll. A majority of users end up uninstalling this less than a week of it being installed. The setup package generally installs about 5 files and is usually about 1003.35 KB (1,027,434 bytes).
