What is QuickPlay SlingPlayer?
QuickPlay SlingPlayer is a pre-installed program on HP notebooks. SlingPlayer allows a user to connect with her Internet TV Slingbox to watch TV on her notebook. The Slingbox sends a live TV stream from a set-top box or DVR to a PC over the Internet. In addition to live or recorded TV programs, SlingPlayer users can program a DVR connected to the Slingbox.
Overview
Upon installation and setup, it defines an auto-start registry entry which makes this program run on each Windows boot for all user logins. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software installer includes 53 files and is usually about 57.76 MB (60,569,828 bytes).
