PC Probe II
What is PC Probe II?
The ASUS PC Probe II is a utility that monitors PC vital information such as fan rototations, voltages and temperature. It also gives system information such as hard disk space, memory usage, CPU type and processor speed. After installation, the program resides runs on startup and in the taskbar and provides audio warning through the PC speakers if certain thresholds such as temperature and voltage have been exceeded.
Overview
The most used version is 1.04.72, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon installation and setup, it defines an auto-start registry entry which makes this program run on each Windows boot for all user logins. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version).
