What is Microsoft Office Outlook 2010?
Outlook is included in Office 2010 Home and Business, Standard, Professional, and Professional Plus. Microsoft Outlook is a personal information manager from Microsoft, available as a part of the Microsoft Office suite. Features that debuted in Outlook 2010 include ribbon interface in all views and grouping of conversations improved - includes messages from all folders, and optionally from separate accounts. Although often used mainly as an email application, it also includes a calendar, task manager, contact manager, note taking, a journal and web browsing.
Overview
Upon installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program run on each boot for the user which installed it. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is OUTLOOK.EXE. It also adds an icon to the Windows notifications area in order to provide access to the program. The software installer includes 5 files.
