A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The Adobe Flash Player Update Service (FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe) is the Flash Player auto-update service that runs as a service and a scheduled task and used to automatically check for new releases.
