What is LINE?  (from NHN)

A global messaging service loved in over 230 countries worldwide. Stay in touch with your friends, whenever, and wherever you are! Use LINE on your smartphone while on the move and from the PC while in the office or at home. To access LINE from your PC email registration is required.

Overview

LINE is a program developed by NHN. The most used version is 3.2.0.76, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program run on each boot for the user which installed it. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The programs's main executable is line.exe and has been seen to consume an average CPU of less than one percent, and utilizes about 54.94 MB of memory. The software installer includes 20 files and is usually about 20.2 MB (21,186,277 bytes). In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS Windows 7 (SP1) as well as Windows XP. While about 45% of users of LINE come from Taiwan, it is also popular in Thailand and Japan.

How do I remove LINE?

You can uninstall LINE from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.
