GBox

What is GBox?

GBox by Premuim, an umwanted and potentially harmful application is installed as a web browser plugin within Internet Explorer and Firefox.

Overview

GBox is a program developed by WebPick Internet Holdings. During setup, the program registers itself to launch on boot through a Windows Schedule Task in order to automatically start-up (this is typically done to avoid any UAC prompts). A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The programs's main executable is GBox.exe and has been seen to consume an average CPU of less than one percent, and utilizes about 1.52 MB of memory. Typically most users end up uninstalling this just after a few days. In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS Windows 7 (SP1) as well as Windows XP. While about 25% of users of GBox come from the United States, it is also popular in Canada and United Kingdom.
