DriverFinder is an advanced driver scanning, updating and downloading utility for Windows-based PCs. Individual drivers may be available freely by manually visiting device manufacturer websites.
Overview
DriverFinder is a program developed by DeskToolsSoft. The most used version is 3.5.0, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. Upon installation, it defines an auto-start registry entry which allows the program run on each boot for the user which installed it. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The main program executable is DriverFinder.exe. The software installer includes 4 files and is usually about 9.2 MB (9,644,974 bytes). In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS Windows 7 (SP1) as well as Windows 10. While about 46% of users of DriverFinder come from the United States, it is also popular in Germany and Canada.
