What is CouponAmazing?
Coupon Amazing is a potentially unwanted program that monitors and tracks a user's online behavior and injects advertising into the web pages a user visits. It also installs a toolbar in the user's web browser as well as bundles additional 3rd party programs. The program monitors the web sites a user visits in order to display coupons, deals, discounts, special offers, promotional codes, or sales offered by affiliate stores or other merchants based on the context of the user's web browsing activities. The browser add-on is a self updating downloadable toolbar, or, in some browsers, an extension or add-on, that provides you access to coupons based on a search conducted by the user or that are offered based upon sites you visit or searches you conduct in your browser where the Browser Add-on is installed and is enabled.
This adware performs the following activities:
- Monitors and records the domain name of each page you view, the advertisements that appear on these pages, and the advertisements that you click.
- Displaying targeted advertisements by inserting them directly into web pages or displaying over parts of existing advertisements.
- Alter affiliate codes that already exist in the web page.
- Injects hyperlink ads on a web page by converting words into linked to advertisements.
Form the EULA: "As part of the download process for the CouponAmazing extension, you may be given the option to reset your homepage to a CouponAmazing homepage product located at www.couponamazing.com. (Note: If you do not wish to reset your homepage to the Save Valet Homepage, you can opt-out of this feature by checking the appropriate box during the download process for the extension.) This site offers certain "widgets" that can be added to customize your homepage. Users who have the CouponAmazing extension may also be able to add widgets directly to their Extension."
