This is a white-labeled LogMeIn branded support and remote access utility of LogMeIn Rescue that uses a proprietary remote desktop protocol over transmitted via SSL that provides support technichians to connect to the remote desktop. The software it typically used to provide custom PC support to remotely view, diagnose and fix an end users computer.
Overview
The most common release is 7.4.515, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. It adds registry entry for the current user which will allow the program to automatically start each time it is rebooted. Upon being installed, the software adds a Windows Service which is designed to run continuously in the background. Manually stopping the service has been seen to cause the program to stop functing properly. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. Many users end up uninstalling this after less than a month of it being installed. The setup package generally installs about 12 files and is usually about 6.8 MB (7,125,993 bytes).
