BrowserSafeguard

What is BrowserSafeguard?

RocketTab is licensed by Rich River Media but typically bundled with BrowserSafeguard, the software is distributed through numerous adware bundlers including optimum-installer, FUSION INSTALL and Tint Installer. The program also installs a Trusted Root certificate (as DO_NOT_TRUST_FiddlerRoot) that servery lowers the security level of the PC as the software will trust BrowserSafeguard actions. The software will run at startup in the background.

BrowserSafeguard.Proxy works as a web proxy that will intercept traffic and perform modifications such as advertising injects, etc.

Overview

During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The primary executable is named BrowserSafeguard.exe. It also includes a system tray icon that is displayed in the notifications area while the program is running. A majority of users end up uninstalling this less than a week of it being installed. The setup package generally installs about 13 files and is usually about 2.23 MB (2,334,736 bytes).

How do I remove BrowserSafeguard?

You can uninstall BrowserSafeguard from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel.

Confused but safeover a year ago
Right now, for whatever it is supposed to do, P.C. Matic refuses to let my computer to open 'Browsersafeguarduninstall.exe What to do. I've searched & searched & cannot find a folder by this name in my collection of folders or programs.
