What is Brother MFL-Pro Suite MFC-885CW?
This is the software that allows your computer to recognize and print to the Brother Printer. This ensures that users can output documents using that type of printer. It also includes an OCR application for converting an image into text and it is integrated into PaperPort as well as various other software including the core printer and scanner drivers, the Brother Control Center and the ScanSoft PaperPort with OCR as well as a document management application for viewing scanned documents.
Overview
During setup, the program creates a startup registration point in Windows in order to automatically start when any user boots the PC. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The software is designed to connect to the Internet and adds a Windows Firewall exception in order to do so without being interfered with. The setup package generally installs about 24 files and is usually about 11.99 MB (12,571,187 bytes).
