Adobe Flash Player
What is Adobe Flash Player? (from Adobe Systems)
The Adobe® Flash® Player runtime lets you effortlessly reach over 1.3 billion people across browsers and OS versions with no install — 11 times more people than the best-selling hardware game console.
Overview
Adobe Flash Player is a program developed by Adobe Systems. The most used version is 17.0.0.169, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. During setup, the program registers itself to launch on boot through a Windows Schedule Task in order to automatically start-up. It adds a background controller service that is set to automatically run. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The main program executable is flashutil32_11_6_602_180_plugin.exe. The software installer includes 24 files and is usually about 18.14 MB (19,020,900 bytes). The Adobe Flash Player Update Service (FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe) included with the Flash Player is set to run once per day if Flash Player has been configured during installation to install updates automatically when available. In comparison to the total number of users, most PCs are running the OS Windows 10 as well as Windows 7 (SP1). While about 50% of users of Adobe Flash Player come from the United States, it is also popular in France and India.
