What is ALTools Update?
ALTools Update is the automatic updater service for most ALTools products including the ALZip program.

ALZip is a file compression program that can unzip 40 different zip file archives. ALZip can zip files into 8 different archives such as ZIP, EGG, TAR and others. In ALZip version 8, ALZip’s own EGG format, that Unicode and other powerful function supported, can be used.
Overview
ALTools Update is a software program developed by ESTsoft. The most common release is v11.4.28.1, with over 84% of all installations currently using this version. A scheduled task is added to Windows Task Scheduler in order to launch the program at various scheduled times (the schedule varies depending on the version). The primary executable is named alupdate.exe. The setup package generally installs about 15 files and is usually about 2.57 MB (2,697,534 bytes). The installed file ALUpdate.exe is the auto-update component of the program which is designed to check for software updates and notify and apply them when new versions are discovered. Relative to the overall usage of users who have this installed on their PCs, most are running Windows 7 (SP1) and Windows 10. While about 30% of users of ALTools Update come from the United States, it is also popular in Japan and France.
ALTools Update has been seen bundling various 3rd party software during the installation process. Make sure to check for and remove unused programs.

How do I remove ALTools Update?
